But how can jobseekers get the HR Managers to ” notice ” those keywords as soon as they open the resume ? Each resume will likely get no more than 5 seconds to make a first good impression.

Of course, if HR Managers are using ” Resume Rater ” software to ‘ rate ‘ all incoming resumes then there is no problem.

Not only will keywords get highlighted automatically, but even the resumes will get ranked in the descending order of ” relevance “.

I would not be surprised if many jobseekers are themselves rating their own resumes before sending to recruiters !

After all , ” Resume Rater ” can be freely downloaded from nearly all websites listed on first page of Google search results.

Its a very good presentation. The Articulate presentation software makes a very professional impression. I wish they had more real world examples of their work. Ultimately a discussion about a search/landing page strategy would be a good presentation prior to this one. The big question is how do I get people to the right part of my site so I can use these ideas to guide them.

It’s interesting that often the speakers are selling themselves rather than selling the methodology (Where am I? What can I do? Why should I do it?). However they are very knowledgeable. The discussion of submitted web pages was great! They gave some really insightful comments on the fly.

The only catch on implementing it was having to install another plug-in to enable PHP code (like Exec-PHP) in blog posts. Though it worked great it also meant having to disable the default editor. I missed having the default editor and am not using the plug-in for now.

If there is a way to execute PHP code without disabling the default editor I would re-implement my code. I liked having integration between Google Docs and WordPress. In the meantime I’ll also look into creating an installable wordpress plug-in for the current implementation.

I’ll send Serguei’s code that I modified to work in WordPress to your email address.
